Thanks for the question:

Stephanie -- preparation should focus on your stage presence and projection in readings.  We need to be able to hear you and see you get into the part to a certain degree -- even if its two lines.  The singing portion (this is not American idol and there are very few "professional" singers who try out) is more basic.  Sing Happy Birthday or whatever -- if you'd like to sing something with the piano bring the music -- we'll have an accompanist.  Just need to hear that you can carry the tune and your range/tone.  (The MFL movie is one of my all time favorites -- and the show of course)

Christian -- The casting committee will look at everything, but most important is how you do in this audition.  Experience helps from time to time but frankly we just need the best people for the parts.  There is no way to predict what will ultimately be the deciding factors.

Hope that helps -- I am working up a final audition guide which I will post and link (with Jason's help) hopefully by the weekend.

Sorry about all of the questions but will this play have school shows during the runnings?

Forgive me, Danny & Suzanne, but I think I might be qualified to field this question.

School shows?

No.  Not a chance. Nada.  Negatory.  No way.  Not in the realm of possibility.  Heck fire no!

Hope this helps.

Wow Wayne -- you seem so sure....

No school shows -- I can't see any way this show could be condensed that way -0- plus the orchestra would be pretty much impossible to get there during the day I would think.  Good question though.
